A Melbourne bikie associate and his co-accuseds allegedly posed as cops to perpetrate a bloodbath home invasion.
Ryan Carruthers, 40, and Shannon Picken, 37, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court charged with home invasion and impersonating a police officer.
Mr Carruthers, Mr Picken and another co-accused Ben Chetcuti, 44, allegedly impersonated police to storm a Doncaster East apartment on April 10.
The suspected crew was allegedly equipped with a police badge and an “occupier search warrant” to force their way into the property.
It’s alleged the accused hoods demanded the occupants – including a child – not move before they ransacked the home and stole assorted jewellery worth $400,000.
Mr Picken, who was also charged with weapon possession and recklessly cause injury, was allegedly the key aggressor who attacked an occupant while armed with knuckledusters.
Mr Picken was arrested after he allegedly sustained injuries at the scene and required hospital treatment.
Blood was found smeared on the walls and doors of the Doncaster East property, according to reports shortly after the alleged home invasion.
Mr Carruthers, a known bikie associate, was arrested at Broadmeadows on April 26.
It’s alleged Mr Carruthers was nabbed with a firearm, GHB and meth.
Mr Chetcuti, who was also charged with home invasion and impersonating a cop, was allegedly caught with multiple firearms including a handgun following his arrest on April 12.
Mr Chetcuti was also charged with possessing a search warrant, police badge and gloves to be used in a burglary.
All three were remanded to face court at a later date.
