A Bayswater North woman took one look at a motorcyclist she hit with her car before reversing back up the road, leaving a 15-year-old and an off-duty paramedic to deal with the aftermath.

Molly Hill pleaded guilty in the Ringwood Magistrates Court on Monday after she failed to give way to the bike on Greenhill Rd in Bayswater North in November 2022.

She hit the bike, causing the rider to be thrown 17m.

Onlookers, including an off-duty paramedic and a 15-year-old boy, rushed to the aid of the man and called emergency services.

Hill initially got out of her car and went over to look at the victim, before rushing back to the driver’s seat of her silver Holden Astra and reversing up Greenhill Rd and away from the scene.

The victim was riding his motorbike at 3.50pm in Box Hill before he was hit by a car.

The motorcyclist was left with multiple broken bones including a broken back.

Later that day, police officers spotted a silver Holden Astra on Tintern Ave.

The number plates did not match the VIN of the vehicle but the car was found to be registered to Molly Hill.

Neighbours called police to alert them to a suspect vehicle — a Holden Astra — on Wendourn Ave on November 5.

When she was interviewed by police, Hill said a friend had been driving the car but would not give up their name.

She then got the car towed and crushed.

Hill was arrested and gave a no comment interview about the Greenhill Rd accident.

Magistrate Hayley Bate said the victim had “plainly suffered significant injuries”.

The court heard the prosecution had a 670 page medical report and the victim was still receiving extensive rehabilitation treatments more than 12 months after the collision.

Ms Bate said the victim needed an opportunity to give a victim impact statement before she considered sentencing Hill.

Hill will reappear before the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on May 28 to be sentenced.
