Officeworks Chadstone: JB Hi Fi, Coles coming to Warrigal Road strip

A sleepy Chadstone shopping strip is set to be transformed by the arrival of several major retailers, creating hundreds of jobs.
A new Chemist Warehouse store has already opened next to Officeworks at the Warrigal Rd centre, which is also home to Harvey Norman.
And signs has announced a new JB-Hi Home store is set to join the precinct, while supermarket giant Coles also hopes to move in.
A Coles spokesperson said subject to necessary approvals, a new supermarket on Warrigal Rd would create hundreds of local retail and construction jobs in the City of Monash.
“The proposed development would represent a significant investment in the area, offering locals a world-class supermarket destination with more choice, great value and an enhanced shopping experience,” the spokesperson said.
The current closes Coles stores in the area are at Chadstone shopping centre, Oakleigh Central and Pinewood Shopping Village.
The Warrigal Rd centre used to be home to a popular nursery, which closed several years ago, with that site remaining vacant.
It is also home to a closed Hog’s Breath Cafe restaurant.
