A long-awaited $1 billion development in Clayton featuring luxury apartments, a hotel, entertainment complex and Kmart has finally opened.

Developed by the Schiavello Group, M-City Monash includes resort-style living for residents including a rooftop pool, tennis court, playground and landscaped gardens.

A Kmart and Woolworths are already open, with a six-screen Village Cinemas, a dining hall including PappaRich, Sharetea, Alleyway Dumplings and dozens of other eateries set to open later this year.

A market grocer, medical and childcare centre, pharmacy and fitness hub including KX Pilates are also under construction.

Schiavello Group managing director Peter Schiavello said the mixed-use development offering integrated living was the first of its kind in Melbourne’s southeast.

“This is a project where we applied our vision and passion towards creating places and spaces with a level of quality for people whether they shop, live or work,” Mr Schiavello said.

“Residents don’t have to leave the confides of the development to go to a restaurant, buy groceries or to visit the doctors, that’s what’s so convenient about it,” he said.

A huge office space with views of the Dandenongs and bay views of the Mornington Peninsula has also been completed, with tenants soon to move in.

A 4.5 star hotel complex with 250 rooms including a range of function venues for corporate and private events will also open later this year.

Schiavello Group property director Vito Chiodo said 84 apartments remained for sale in the 664-unit complex.

The apartments include open-plan living spaces making the most of natural light to highlight stone benchtops and timber floors.

“With your apartment you get all the amenities including a pool, tennis court, playground and barbecue area, you can’t get these type of amenities anywhere else in Clayton,” Mr Chiodo said.

“Residents are part of a secure-gated and an enriched community that focuses on security, safety and wellbeing of those who live here,” he said.

A limited number of one-bedroom apartments remain available priced from $385,000.

Two-bedroom apartments range from $465,000 and three-bedroom apartments start from $795,000.
