A man instructing a learner driver was fined and will face court after allegedly being caught unlicensed and driving under the influence of drugs.
Nunawading highway patrol Sergeant Paul Egan said an 18-year-old learner driver was pulled over in Doncaster on the morning of September 5 as part of Operation Argus.
He had a learner’s permit, was correctly displaying L-plates, and passed roadside drug and alcohol tests.
But the licence of the instructor, a 44-year-old Boronia man, was suspended and he allegedly failed a drugs test.
Sgt Egan said anyone instructing an L-plater must be fully licenced, be under 0.05, and not be influenced by drugs.
“Remember the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way,” he said.
On the Eyewatch — Manningham Police Service Area Facebook page, Sgt Egan said the man would face court in relation to the incident.
