Isaiah Firebrace and Leea Nanos to perform at Manningham’s Carols by Candlelight at Ruffey Lake Park

She sung her heart out for the chance to go to Eurovision, and now Doncaster teenager Leea Nanos is capping off a huge year as one of the feature artists for Manningham’s Carols by Candlelight.

Manningham’s Carols by Candlelight will have a Eurovision flavour this year.

Former X-Factor winner and Australia’s 2017 representative Isaiah Firebrace will headline the December 13 event at Doncaster’s Ruffey Lake Park.

He’ll be joined by Manningham’s own Leea Nanos, who was a contestant in this year’s Eurovision: Australia Decides contest in February.

Nanos, 17, has just finished high school and said she was excited to perform at an event she’d been attending since she was little.

She said she would perform four solo songs and two with Firebrace and other performers.

“I love Christmas and I’m excited to get in the spirit,” she said.

“I’ve been doing rehearsals with a 40-piece orchestra and a choir and I’ve never performed with such a huge band before.

“I’ve been here my whole life and it’s great to sing at home.”

The free event kicks off with children’s activities at 6pm, followed by the main concert at 8pm and fireworks at 10pm.

Manningham Council is also not printing songbooks this year to minimise its environmental impact. Carols lovers can instead download a copy online before the event.
