Hotel Avani Melbourne Box Hill Residences to open on Nelson Rd

A 75-suite hotel is about to open in Box Hill’s bustling business precinct, with the complex, owned by global resort giant Avani, also boasting an infinity pool, and rooftop entertaining space.

Box Hill’s bustling central precinct is getting another addition, with a 75-suite hotel about to open close to the commercial, medical and education precinct.

The hotel, Avani Melbourne Box Hill Residences, will be part of a 20-storey high rise which is close to completion at 12-14 Nelson Rd, less than 300m from Box Hill Central.

Designed to appeal to both business and leisure travellers, the hotel will offer 75 one and two-bedroom suites, a heated infinity pool, sauna and rooftop entertaining space with views from Box Hill Gardens out to the Dandenong Ranges.

The hotel will be Avani’s second in Melbourne, behind Avani Central Melbourne Residents in the CBD.

The company has 27 different hotels and resorts operating across 19 countries.

The hotel will be located close to Box Hill’s hospitals, retail precinct, TAFE and public transport.

Minor Hotels and Resorts Australia and New Zealand chief operating officer Craig Hooley said the group was bringing a new level of service to Australia and New Zealand.

“Travellers the world over have responded to this fresh modern brand with our upbeat service culture that is rooted in traditional Thai hospitality,” he said.

The hotel will be on levels nine to 15, which Whitehorse Council approved for the site in July 2016.

The building is also set to include retail space on the ground floor, apartments and offices.

A basement carpark has already been completed

The hotel’s location will place guests close to both Box Hill Hospital and Epworth Eastern, as well as Box Hill Tafe and Box Hill’s restaurants and public transport network.

Avani Melbourne Box Hill Residences is expected to begin taking guests from September 13.
