A HAUNTED Glen Waverley escape room is not for the faint hearted.

Trust us, the Monash Leader did it.

Before you enter Australia’s very first interactive escape room, Exitus powered by Cubescape, you learn the ghost of Anne terrorises The Old Haunt is desperate to be reunited with her lost love.

And unless you lead her back to him within 50 minutes, she will destroy the house she haunts and you will be cursed.

Put your raincoat and blindfold on and watch your step as you head across Strike Century City Walk to a room filled with clues at your finger tips to solve the game.

A picture hangs on the wall, a dark night scape shines through the window while the old grandfather clock stands keeping time along the side.

A leather-bound journal lays on the table next to a music player.

We poke and we prod, we pull and crank to find hidden objects, crack the clues and try to reunite the ghost with her lost love.

But the clock keeps ticking, and together we use logic, initiative, observation and just sheer dumb luck to move to the next clue.

Thankfully, as we bumble around, struggling to push past various points in the game, the technology running the escape room adapts with us to make some of the clues a little easier.

But just as we make a breakthrough on the final puzzle, the clock strikes midnight and Anne begins to destroy the house and places her curse on us.

While we only had the minimum of two players in the escape room, up to six people can play.

The gameplay will be different for each group of players and tailored to your team’s skill level.

And, it doesn’t end there because players will also be scored based on speed, the number of clues needed and the individual contribution and teamwork.

Rohan Smith, of Cubescape, said having a ghost as the protagonist for the experience was an obvious choice to be able to use mechatronics to make strange things happen in the game.

Mr Smith said the escape rooms were taking off and as for the next location, it was a mystery.

Will you dare?
