A customer who shopped at The Reject Shop and Coles at Burwood One Shopping Centre has tested positive to coronavirus.
Shopping centre management said it had been notified by the Department of Health and Human Services that the customer visited the complex on Sunday, September 13 and did not visit any other stores.
“We are not aware that the customer has transmitted the virus to anyone else,” management said on Facebook.
“The DHHS has reported that no further action is required but we will be undertaking a deep clean this evening (September 18) as a precautionary measure.
“The wellbeing of our community is our highest priority and we continue to take all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in the centre.”
Management said anyone who had been shopping at the centre on or since September 13 who experienced even mild symptoms should get tested and remain at home until they received a negative test result.
The shopping centre has been listed as a high-risk location on the DHHS website, with the dates of exposure September 13 and 14.
Premier Daniel Andrews urged anyone in Victoria who had symptoms to get tested.
“Don’t put it off for an hour, don’t put it off for a day,” he said.
According to Sunday’s figures, there were just five active coronavirus cases in Whitehorse.
