A new all-you-can-eat Asian fusion restaurant that allows diners to cook their own meals has opened in Burwood East.
Discovery Fusion BBQ Buffet, based at the former Groove Train site at Burwood One Shopping Centre, opened briefly in the middle of last year before closing due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Since reopening in November, co-owner Alan Zhang said it had received great support from customers.
Customers can enjoy live music, with singers performing on weeknights and a DJ at the weekend, and a bar offers a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Once you have been seated at your table, diners can head to the buffet area where all the food is on display.
Diners can go to the buffet as many times as they want within a two-hour time bracket, fill their plates with various raw meats or vegetables on metal skewers, before staff help turn on the cookers at the tables.
Customers are invited to place their metal skewers over the coals ensuring the little wheels rotate so the food cooks evenly (with staff on hand to help out).
The plate will move back and forth automatically while the skewers rotate.
Mr Zhang, who co-owns the restaurant with Mike Zhang, Monica Lin, and Colin Huo said young adults would love the cool industrial vibe of the restaurant, which has muted lighting and concrete floors.
“It’s a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy live entertainment daily,” he said.
“It also has a great family friendly atmosphere, perfect for large family gatherings or group functions.”
The restaurant is at 172 Burwood Highway, Burwood East.
