Melbourne’s newest Bunnings store is set to open its doors before Christmas.
Construction works are progressing at the multi-level Bunnings Doncaster site at 659 Doncaster Rd, next to Westfield Doncaster, with the store to open in December.
The new warehouse sits below a luxury Mercure Hotel, which is also gearing up to welcome guests next month.
Bunnings area manager Craig Bleksley said the new store would include familiar features such as a main retail area, timber and building materials yard and an outdoor nursery.
“It represents an investment by Bunnings of more than $90 million and will span just over 11,000sq m, with over 300 carparking spaces,” Mr Bleksley said.
“We’re excited to be creating 180 new jobs in the local community, with recruitment now complete.
“We look forward to opening the doors and welcoming local residents to the new store, offering a wide range of home and lifestyle products, backed by great service from our team.”
Meanwhile guests will soon be able to check-in at Mercure Melbourne Doncaster, with the hotel set to feature 183 contemporary guest rooms along with an elite fitness centre, expansive outdoor terraces and indoor/outdoor swimming pool.
The property will also host functions, with One2One Events to be launched on level three of the hotel, with the space offering views over the city skyline and Yarra Ranges.
Those looking to enjoy a drink or some Mexican food can visit Chido Chido Bar & Cantina.
Mercure Melbourne Doncaster will also introduce a number of digital initiatives including contactless options for room keys, parking, minibar and room service along with environmental initiatives such as the elimination of single use plastic bottles and guest amenities.
