It was the third bomb threat made to the hospital that day.
Police believe the calls were made by the same woman, who was perceived to be angry about the way she had been treated at the hospital.
Senior Constable Melissa Leeds said detectives were still investigating the threats.
She said police searched the hospital after each bomb threat.
An Eastern Health spokeswoman, who did not want to be named, confirmed there had been a situation at the hospital which was investigated by police.
She said the organisation prioritised the safety of those at Box Hill Hospital.
“Eastern Health greatly values the importance of minimising disruptions to our services and takes every precaution to ensure we provide a safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors.”
