THE sixth annual Belgrave Survival Day on Saturday will combine history, hip-hop and a jazz didgeridoo show.
The festival celebrates indigenous culture through music, storytelling, traditional dance and craft.
This year it will mark the 150th anniversary of Healesville's Cooranderrk Mission, with speeches from Wurundjeri elder Uncle Bill Nicholson and Aunty Dot Peters, whose grandmother was born on the mission.
There will be damper-making workshops for kids as well as colouring competitions, flag making and face painting.
Benny Walker and Lady Lash will perform, and Belgrave musician David Martin will play jazz didgeridoo.
Belgrave Survival Day is organised by a committee of volunteers and is supported by Yarra Ranges Council.
It runs from noon to 4.30pm at Borthwick Park, Benson St, Belgrave.
