Balwyn North: Teens arrested for alleged Inverness Way aggravated burglaries

Two youths who were allegedly zooming around in a stolen SUV have been caught out following a series of alleged aggravated burglaries in Melbourne’s east.

Two youths have been arrested following a series of alleged incidents during a crime spree in Melbourne’s east.

Police believe three or more people travelling in an allegedly stolen white SUV were involved in attempted carjackings in Doncaster East and Lower Templestowe about 1am on Monday.

They then moved on to Balwyn North and were involved in a series of alleged aggravated burglaries on Inverness Way.

Officers visited the street, recovered the SUV and searched the surrounding area for the alleged offenders.

They arrested a 16-year-old on Burke Rd and a 17-year-old on The Boulevard.

The youths are assisting police with their inquiries on Monday afternoon and the investigation is ongoing.
