Teens charged over alleged involvement in Bull St, Bendigo bashing

Two teenagers have been charged over their alleged involvement in a vicious bashing in Bendigo’s CBD.

Detectives from the Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit arrested a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old yesterday following an investigation into a gang bashing on Bull St on February 9 about 1am.

In the first incident, two 28-year-old Bendigo men were attacked allegedly by the group which is then accused of fleeing before further attacking a 32-year-old man at the intersection of Queen and Mitchell streets about 45 minutes later.

A 16-year-old male has been charged with 13 offences including violent disorder, affray, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault.

He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

An 18-year-old man from Kangaroo Flat has also been charged with 13 offences including violent disorder, affray, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, and unlawful assault.

He was bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on 6 June.

The investigation remains ongoing.
