Three teens have been charged over a 250km/h joy ride in a $500,000 Porsche that was allegedly stolen in a home invasion that left the victims “fearful and traumatised”.

The teens were charged after following a police raid on Monday over a crime spree across Bendigo, Central Victoria and Melbourne.

Police allege the teens drove to an address in Daylesford in the early hours of Sunday in an allegedly stolen BMW where they allegedly stole a Porsche 911 valued at about $500,000 and a Mini Cooper.

The cars were allegedly stolen during an aggravated burglary in the early hours of Sunday morning that left the victims “fearful and traumatised”.

Police allege the teens posted videos of high speed hooning in a car that was allegedly stolen in a home invasion hours earlier.

The teens allegedly filmed themselves doing 250km/h on the Calder Highway in the Porsche as they drove the two allegedly stolen cars back to Bendigo where they were later arrested and charged.

One teen was released on bail while the 15-year-old accused of doing 250km/h in the allegedly stolen Porsche was remanded to appear before a Children’s Court at a later date.

A 15-year-old who allegedly filmed and posted the videos of the high speed hooning in the allegedly stolen Porsche sat in the dock with a smirk on his face as he applied for bail on Tuesday.

The court heard the teen had been charged with aggravated home invasion after he alongside a number of other “known youth offenders” went into a Princess Hill home allegedly with a large serrated knife.

The fresh charges came less than a week after he was sentenced to a youth supervision order in November over a spate of aggravated burglaries, car thefts and violent robberies in across 2023 and 2024 when he was 13 and 14, the court heard.

Police opposed the teen’s bail bid, alleging the teen had breached “every condition under the sun” placed on him by the Children’s Court, but continued to reoffend.

“I do think he will continue to commit aggravated burglaries and steal cars as he (allegedly) has done over the last 12 months and continues to,” Detective Senior Constable Justin Ludeman told the court.

Police alleged the teen had been “living a double life”, appearing on the surface to be engaging with Youth Justice supports and education, while going out and allegedly breaking into houses and stealing cars.

The teen’s Legal Aid lawyer argued the teen should be released to live with his mother with a curfew, arguing he should be released to continue his education instead of being “pulled away from a positive environment” and remanding him could see the teen become further involved in crime.

Magistrate Sharon McRae said the teen had been “engaging well” with his supports, but had “done a shocking job in (allegedly) not reoffending”.

“You failed to cut ties with co-offenders even though you know that will get you into trouble,” she said.

“It’s clear you’ve been away at night allegedly committing offences.”

She said the court was “concerned” that the teen was “willing to take a knife into someone else’s house” and she “worried” the teen’s behaviour would “get someone killed”.

The teen’s smirk was replaced by a perplexed expression of incredulity as Ms McRae refused the teen’s bail, telling him “you haven’t changed”, finding that no bail condition could mitigate risk he would reoffend while on bail.

“I simply cannot take the risk,” she said.

The teen will return to court in April.
