A former Maryborough schoolteacher is set to fight a string of sexual assault and rape charges.
Francis Xavier Crameri, 63, faced the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court for a brief administrative hearing this week charged with a string of sex offences.
Crameri was last month suspended by the Victorian Institute of Teaching, the state teaching regulator and is not currently teaching.
The court on Wednesday heard Crameri intends to fight the charges, with a daylong committal hearing scheduled for late June.
Crameri is facing two counts of rape and four counts of sexual assault.
All of the charges stem from a single day in October last year.
The precise details of his alleged offending are yet to be publicly aired in court.
