Man allegedly ripped off victims with $30,000 firewood fraud
A man from southwest Bendigo has been charged after he allegedly sold firewood to a customer and never delivered it.

A man has been charged after allegedly fraudulently selling thousands of dollars worth of firewood in Kangaroo Flat.
It is alleged the 20-year-old man sold about $30,000 of firewood to a victim in southwest Victoria in October and never supplied it.
It is also alleged the man convinced a business owner to deliver approximately $9000 of wood to a third party for which he never paid.
The man is also alleged to have misrepresented himself to get his hands on about $1000 worth of tools.
A warrant was executed on Friday December 9 and a Toyota HiLux, suspected of being the proceeds of crime, was seized.
The Kangaroo Flat man was arrested and charged with four counts of obtain property by deception.
He has been bailed to appear before Bendigo Magistrates’ Court in February 2023.
