Heathcote crash: Northern Highway accidents kills Echuca man, injures girl

A young Echuca man has died and a young girl has been injured after a horrific car crash in Heathcote.
Leading Senior Constable Kendra Jackson said emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash on the Northern Highway at 5.20am on Thursday.
Sen-Constable Jackson said investigators believe the driver of a Holden Commodore sedan was travelling north along the highway when it struck the back of a Ford utility before crashing into a tree.
She said a 23-year-old Echuca man was the driver of the Holden sedan and he died at the scene.
His passenger, a 14-year-old girl was seriously injured and transported to hospital with facial injuries.
Constable Jackson said the driver of the Ford was a 56-year-old Heathcote man was uninjured in the crash.
Police are investigating whether the Holden Commodore, with NSW registration plates, was stolen from a Moama address last week.
