Ascot man Christian Lock, 50, pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child abuse material.

The mother of one of the children Lock groomed became concerned when she found the pedo contacting her daughter on social media, reporting his grooming to police.

Police raided the grub’s house, seizing electronic devices that contained hundreds of videos and pictures of sickening child abuse material.

The court heard Lock also possessed videos of adult women being violently raped and mutilated with knives.

Alongside the horde of horrorific videos, police also found child abuse material that Lock had produced himself, laughing as he filmed and encouraged three little girls in a bedroom.

The mother of a child he abused told the court she would carry the “shame” forever that she couldn’t protect her daughter.

Lock had previously contested the charges against him, arguing over the severity of the alleged abuse material, claiming the abuse material isn’t as “serious” as police alleged.

Lock’s legal aid lawyer argued the predator should be sentenced to a community corrections order.

The defence argued Lock had “severe anxiety” at the prospect of imprisonment and had suicidal ideations due to the prospect that he might be jailed, arguing his mental health should be a mitigating factor in sentence.

The defence further argued “there was no harm or distress caused” by Lock’s grooming and the filming was “seen as fun” by the children.

The prosecution said the psychological report was “self-serving” and he had lied throughout it, denying and downplaying his offending.

The prosecution argued the court needed to send a message to the community and denounce the offending “in the highest way”.

The prosecution said the sentence should reflect the severity of the “untold trauma these innocent victims” of child abuse material production who were never given a voice “after the torture they have been subjected to”.

Magistrate Trieu Huynh ordered Lock be assessed for a community corrections order.

The pedo, who will be placed on the sex offender register for 15 years, will return to court on April 9.
