A man has drowned at a popular Phillip Island beach despite frantic efforts to revive him on Victoria’s first hot day of the summer.
A man has drowned at a popular Phillip Island beach despite desperate efforts by passers-by to save him.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner after the death of a man at Surf Beach on Wednesday afternoon.
It is understood passer-bys pulled the unresponsive man from the water about 1.10pm.
CPR was performed but sadly the man, who is yet-to-be formally identified, died at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
