Crowds of spectators hit the Gippsland Motorplex in Bairnsdale on the weekend for a test and tune fun day.
The event kicked off from 9am on Saturday, and attendees watched as drivers drifted, steered and speed along as smoke filled the track.
It was the sixth event the Aerodrome Rd multipurpose motorsports venue held this year.
Secretary Geneva Starky said the event brought people from "all walks of life" together and there were about 45 car enthusiasts on the strip that day.
"We've got the young, the old - and the young enthusiasts who've just got their first car and they want to go out and learn how to skid," Ms Starky said.
"I just love seeing everybody come together."
She said there were also drag strips in other areas of the state - one in Bega and the other in Heathcote.
Ms Starky added all the funding goes into the club, however their last event would be held in September.
"Our lease is coming to an end out here and the airport is extending," she said.
"So as of the last event in September - the motorplex does have a new home to relocate to - but without the funding nothing will happen for a few years.
"So I think we will see a lot more burnouts on the road, highway patrol and the local community has said the same thing."
Ms Starky said the motorplex provided a safe environment for all car enthusiasts.
"It's a consistent monthly event that everybody is coming to - we've got guys from Sydney here today and (people) from all parts of Melbourne," she said.
"So I think definitely you're going to see more hooning activity on the road - I am very sad because it (the event) has been our baby project for the past year.
"We're really fighting for this new burnout pad and driver training facility we built out on the speedway- but unfortunately without the funding it's not going to happen."
Ms Starky said the track at Bairnsdale had been there "well before" she was born.
"It was purely a drag strip back in the day - this drag strip is an old aerodrome strip from the war," she said.
"It's been going for a fair few years and then up until last year when we took it over, it (the track) sat abandoned for a couple of years - and then we picked it up again.
"We had community support around us and the volunteers who were able to get it back up and running."
Ms Starky said the new speedway would cost up to $300,000 to build.
At test and tune, guests also brought chairs and gazebos, and tried out the food vans.
The Herald Sun made an appearance to capture pictures and videos of crowds and drivers making the most of what was an action-packed day.
