A 45-year-old man has been charged over a stabbing that occurred at a Cowes property on Tuesday night.

A 45-year-old Cowes man has been charged with assault over a stabbing that occurred at private property in Phillip Island overnight.
Police were called to a house in Walton St, Cowes at around 11.50pm on Tuesday night after reports of a stabbing.
They located a 41-year-old Cowes man with a laceration to his stomach.
Paramedics attended the scene and the man was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
Police believe the parties involved are known to each other.
