An elderly man has been taken to hospital after a crash on a busy freeway in the Baw Baw region.

Paramedics were called to the scene on Davey Dr and the Princes Fwy in Trafalgar just before 2pm on Wednesday.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the man, aged in his 70s, was taken to Latrobe Regional Health in a stable condition.
