Police are investigating after a man allegedly masturbated in front of children while they were playing at school.
Bairnsdale sexual offences and child abuse investigation team detectives are appealing for public assistance following an indecent exposure outside a Bairnsdale school last week.
Investigators have been told a man driving a dark-coloured Ford Sedan stopped outside the gates of the school on Grant St on Tuesday, May 16, about 2pm.
It is believed the man then wound down the car’s window before making eye contact with a child on the playground.
He then allegedly exposed his genitalia and started masturbating.
The child ran off and told teachers.
Police believe the man then took off along Grant St and turned left onto Main St, towards the town centre.
The man was described as being caucasian, aged in his 30s/40s, clean shaven with possibly a bald head or a crew haircut.
Detectives are hoping someone in the area at the time may have dashcam that has captured the vehicle to assist investigators with their investigation.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online.
