Defence lawyer Sam Norton said his client had genuine acceptance of responsibility, which was “not the norm” in this type of proceeding.
Mr Norton said Clapp had been “fulfilling” a sexual fantasy with a non-threatening female and had early exposure to child abuse material.
Judge Marcus Dempsey said he was dealing with a “ highly intelligent” young man who was not “emotionally intelligent”.
Clapp will be sentenced on April 30.
