Traralgon V/Line suspended after person hit by train, replacement coaches in place

One person has died after being hit by a train in the Latrobe Valley, with the Traralgon V/Line suspended.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the Bank St level crossing in Traralgon about 6.30am Tuesday.
The train remains stationary on the railway while police investigate the incident.
A V/Line alert said trains in both directions are now operating between Southern Cross and Morwell, and V/Line asks passengers to check station platform displays, listen for announcements, and allow extra time for their journey.
Trains heading towards Traralgon will terminate in Morwell, with coaches providing transport for the rest of the journey.
This disruption is under the control of emergency services and trains will resume when investigations are complete.

The V/Line signals team is monitoring conditions in the area and will adjust traffic lights to assist with coach movements.
A police spokeswoman said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Authorities remain on scene.
