Driver killed after car veers off a bridge and into the water in Noojee

Witnesses and emergency services desperately fought to save a driver after his car drove off a bridge and plunged into water at Noojee.

A man has died after his car veered off a bridge and landed in water at Noojee on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Toorongo Valley Road about 9pm, March 13.

A crowd gathered on the bridge as the driver and sole occupant was removed from the car and paramedics began CPR.

Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
