Five people, including a child and teen, have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash on a busy road at Phillip Island that was blocked off to traffic.

Five people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash on a busy road at Phillip Island.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the corner of The Esplanade and Thompson Ave in Cowes just after 11am Monday.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said a woman in her 70s was flown to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition with upper body injuries.
She said a child and a teenager were taken to the Monash Medical Centre in stable conditions with upper and lower body injuries.
Meanwhile, a man in his 80s and a man in his 30s were both taken to the Wonthaggi Hospital in stable conditions with upper body injuries.
A CFA spokeswoman said three CFA vehicles responded.
The incident was declared under control at 11.18am and safe at 11.47am.
The VICSES Phillip Island Unit said in a Facebook post that no one was trapped and hydraulic rescue tools were not required.
“A reminder the island is extra busy at this time of the year, please take care on the roads,” the post said.

The road remained closed while authorities worked to clear the scene.
