Two brothers have denied murdering a Morwell teenager and will now stand trial in the Supreme Court.

Corey Smart, 24, and Brayden Smart, 21 appeared via videolink at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court charged over the murder of Nicholas Henry.

Mr Henry, 19, was found dead in Morwell in February this year.

The brothers pleaded not guilty in court on Monday July 19.

They did not apply for bail but will appear for a directions hearing in the higher court on August 3.

Brayden Smart has also been charged with other offences including possessing cannabis and criminal damage.

The Smart family dialled in for the virtual hearing, saying “love you both” to the brothers.

Magistrate Simon Zebrowski offered his condolences to Mr Henry’s family who were also present in the online hearing.

A third man charged with Mr Henry’s murder, Abraham Abas, 19, also faced court and was remanded for a further committal mention on July 28.
