Car crashes into house and gas tank in Wonthaggi

Homeowners in Wonthaggi have been forced to evacuate after a car crashed through their front window causing a gas leak.

Homeowners have been forced to spend the night elsewhere after a car crashed into their house and the smell of gas was discovered.

Emergency services were called to Graham Street in Wonthaggi about 2pm on Wednesday to reports of a car crashed into a house and a gas tank.

Three CFA units from Wonthaggi and Inverloch attended the scene as well as Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.

CFA declared the scene under control a short time later and asked building surveyors to assess the home due to a gas smell being detected.

Police ruled the crash an accident.

No one was injured.
