Cape Paterson crash: 18-year-old released from hospital as investigations continue

An 18-year-old, flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a single-vehicle crash in Cape Paterson, is no longer in hospital as police investigations continue.

An 18-year-old man has been released from hospital as police continue to investigate a horror crash in Cape Paterson in April.

Police are continuing to investigate the single vehicle crash on Friday, 15 April.

It’s believed a silver Holden sedan was travelling south on Cape Paterson – Inverloch Road when it crashed about 11.45am.

Police believe the vehicle may have overtaken a number of cars between Honeys Rd and Wilsons Rd before losing control and colliding with the embankment, flipping and then spinning on its roof.

This vehicle narrowly missed colliding with a red sedan travelling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision an 18-year-old Cape Paterson man, who was in the sedan, suffered life-threatening injuries.

Ambulance Victoria said he received serious upper body injuries and taken to hospital in a critical condition. He has now been released.

The driver and two other passengers, all in their late teens, were treated at the scene by paramedics while one was taken to hospital with minor injuries in a stable condition.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage.
