A pedophile from western Victoria sent a woman “explicit and vile” sexual messages about her unborn child.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced Ballarat County Court on Monday having pleaded guilty to producing child abuse material and using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material.
The court heard that in 2022, the man took photos of a young boy that showed his genitalia and buttocks.
He told the boy not to tell anyone about the pictures.
Later, he sent messages to a pregnant woman expressing a desire to have sexual intercourse with the woman’s unborn child.
The court heard the man was born in Melbourne and raised in Melton.
He worked for a nameplate etching company in Victoria and moved to New Zealand and America, where he spent time in prison for sexually assaulting a child.
After being deported from the US, he resided in Ararat and Bacchus Marsh.
The man was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison and will be eligible for parole in two years and six months.
He has already spent 17 days in custody and will have to report as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
