A man has been killed and a woman rushed to hospital following a deadly early morning crash near Ballarat.

A man has died after a car crashed into a tree in Wattle Flat in the early hours of November 3.

A man has died and a woman is in hospital after a car crashed into a tree near Ballarat in the early hours of November 3.

Police and emergency services responded to the incident on Melbourne Rd in Wattle Flat at 3.15am.

The male driver died at the scene, while his female passenger managed to pull herself out of the car.

Paramedics treated her at the scene and she was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The age and location of the two people involved in the crash are yet to be released.

The incident comes just over a week after another deadly crash involving a car hitting a tree in Tylden.

A 32-year-old Drummond man was killed after his car ran off Trentham Rd on October 22 about 6pm.
