Scott Harrison faces court over alleged meat cleaver attack in Ballarat

One of two people accused of leaving a man with serious facial injuries after attacking him with a meat cleaver has been identified.

A Ballarat East man accused of attacking another person with a meat cleaver has faced court.

Scott Harrison, 30, was remanded in custody after briefly facing Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on charges including intentionally causing injury, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, affray and assault with a weapon on Wednesday morning.

It comes after a man was taken to hospital with a serious facial injury after he was allegedly attacked by two men in Ballarat just before 8pm on Tuesday.

Police say two people allegedly assaulted a man with a meat cleaver on Little Bridge Street.

Two men were arrested a short distance away.

A 16-year-old boy was charged with affray, assault with a weapon and possession of a controlled weapon.

He was bailed to appear at a court at a later date.
