Scott was charged by detectives from the Armed Crime Squad with several offences including intentionally causing serious injury and prohibited person use firearm.
The 25-year-old from Sale went to a Ballarat hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower body on Thursday morning.
Scott will return to court for committal mention on January 14, 2021.
