A new and expansive Sebastopol supermarket will soon be open to the public.
After months of construction and weeks of setting up, the new Albert Street Coles – roughly double the size of its predecessor – will open its doors on Friday.
It contains a frozen dessert bar, a fresh orange juice machine, a bakery and bread slicer, a deli stocked with cheese, a mochi treat bar, a wide selection of pet treats, conveyor belt self-service checkouts, and two electric-vehicle-charging car parks.
Compared with the previous building, it will have an additional eight aisles, a larger produce section and more space allocated for ready-made meals.
Liquorland adjoins the supermarket with a tripled supply of drinks and a new local focus.
Coles also commissioned Wadawurrung artist Billy-Jay O’Toole to paint a mural for the shop’s windows.
Coles Sebastopol store manager Sharon Germon said it was probably one of the largest in the state.
“We are so excited to be opening a new-look Coles store for the Sebastopol community and
welcoming so many brand-new team members in the process,” she said.
“The store is going from five to 13 aisles, so we are thrilled about offering a wider range of product that we know our customers will love.”
Coles Sebastopol will open on June 24 at 9am and operate from 6am to 10pm daily.
