A one-year-old Sebastopol boy’s mysterious death has triggered a major investigation by homicide detectives and the child abuse and sexual assault investigation team.
The mysterious death of a baby boy has sparked an investigation led by homicide detectives and child abuse and sexual assault investigation team.
Police were told the one-year-old child became unresponsive about noon on November 4 at a Sebastopol home and was rushed to hospital by his mother and her partner.
He was later transferred to a Melbourne hospital, where he died on November 6.
Homicide Squad detectives and the Ballarat Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Investigation Team have interviewed the boy’s 26-year-old mother and her 18-year-old partner.
The investigation remains ongoing.
