Midland Highway car crash causes grass fire
A man has been taken to hospital following a crash which left his vehicle “engulfed in flames”, with fire spreading to nearby grassland.

A vehicle was “engulfed in flames” following a crash on the Midland Highway on Friday afternoon, spreading fire to nearby grassland on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Meredith about 1.35pm.
A CFA spokeswoman said crews found a vehicle “engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading into nearby grassland”.
By 2.20pm, firefighters had the situation under control and called off further help.
One man was taken to Geelong University Public Hospital in a stable condition.
