A Sebastopol bottle shop was ram raided with a stolen car at the weekend, with two men using a laundry basket to haul alcohol out of the store.
Ballarat police believe a stolen black 2004 Ford Territory was reversed into the front of a liquor shop on Albert St about 3.25am on May 14.
The vehicle was missing its bonnet and rear passenger door and had smashed windows and a wooden trellis on the front passenger window.
Two men entered the bottle-o and used a laundry basket to allegedly steal a “large quantity” of liquor before fleeing in the car west on Beverin St.
On Wednesday, emergency services were called to Sebastopol-Smythesdale Rd in Ross Creek about 2.20am where the vehicle had been set on fire and destroyed.
Police said checks revealed the car was stolen from Sutton St in Delacombe in April.
Investigations continue and police urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
