Two women have escaped the gaze of a man with “large dark eyes” who was watching them through a toilet cubicle gap.
Ballarat sexual offences and child abuse investigation detectives are looking into an incident at Lake Wendouree after two women called 000 in the middle of the night on April 3.
The two women were at the Mair St oval just after midnight when they saw a man in the cubicle next door.
While they were in the bathroom they noticed he was watching them by peering under the shared wall.
They ran from the oval toilets and phoned police.
A police spokesman said the pair said: “The man is described to be about 20 years old with pale skin, has large dark eyes and brown curly hair.”
This follows another disturbing incident last month at a Ballarat park where two primary school girls were allegedly assaulted.
It was previously reported police were hunting a man who told two young girls who were playing in a park he was looking for missing dog before allegedly assaulting them on March 17.
A 21-year-old man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and appeared in the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on March 31.
He was released on bail and will return to court at a later date.
Police do not believe the two incidents are linked.
