A Ballarat pole dancer and business owner has achieved second place in this year’s iteration of a popular American talent show.
PhysiPole Studios founder Kristy Sellars performed live on America’s Got Talent and was awarded runner-up.
Ms Sellars’ online followers described her finals act as “amazing” and “truly magical”.
“You should have won,” a social media commenter wrote.
“You were the best contestant this season. Congrats on awesome performances and I know you will still end up with your own show.”
“You were my favorite act,” another said.
“I wish you great success. You deserve your own show and I hope that dream still comes true.”
Ms Sellars grew up in Warrnambool and began teaching pole dancing in 2009.
In 2019, the mother-of-three won Australia’s Got Talent, and now has 17 studio locations across Australia, including in Ballarat.
Ms Sellars wrote on social media before her semi-finals performance that the experience in Los Angeles was “terrifying and exciting at the same time”.
“What a surreal experience,” she said.
“Although the preparation is pushing me to my limits (completely self inflicted), I’m very grateful for the challenge.”
Afterwards, Ms Sellars said: “Thank you so much for the support everyone.”
