The mother of a woman missing for seven months has revealed she’s living a “nightmare” as police held grave concerns for her welfare.

Mother of four Kobie Parfitt — also a grandmother to three children — was last seen in the Ballarat area in April.

The 43-year-old lived in Ballarat Central and is estranged from her family.

She hadn’t contacted them since March.

Ms Parfitt’s mother Kathy Snowball on Sunday said her daughter was a “beautiful person who lost her way”.

“I just hope that someone out there that knows something can please stop this nightmare that we’re living,” she said.

“So that we can tell her kids, move forward, put her to rest, and so we can just remember the beautiful person that she was.

“Please we just need to know, the whole family but for her kids and her grandkids, they just need to know, as her father and I do.”

Ms Snowball, who has been caring for Ms Parfitt’s 13-year-old daughter for the past 18 months said the teen was desperate to know where her mum was.

“Just please if you know anything, even if you think it’s just the smallest piece of information, it just may help them put the final pieces in the puzzle together,” she said.

Missing Persons Squad Detective Senior Constable Jason Stewart said he held “serious concerns” for Ms Parfitt’s wellbeing, with bank and phone records ending about the time of her disappearance.

“By no means was Kobie a saint, but by no means was she a demon either, she was known to police, that’s not a secret,” he said.

“It’s no secret that she’s burnt bridges with many people and being estranged from the family there’s been that lapse in time which has resulted in her not being reported, so essentially we are months behind the investigation.

“Regardless of the circumstances Kobie is a daughter, she is a parent, she is loved and unfortunately for them while she remains missing these questions go unanswered.”

Anyone who had spoken to Ms Parfitt before she went missing or knew anything about her whereabouts was urged to come forward.

“This is information that we’re after to help put the pieces of the puzzle together and find out who was the last person that saw her, where this happened and ultimately what happened to her,” Senior Constable Stewart said.

Ms Parfitt, who had worked in disability support and aged care, is 168 cm with a slim to medium build and long brown hair.
