A person has died in a crash on the Pyrenees Highway early Thursday morning, with emergency services unable to revive the driver at the scene.

A driver died in a crash on a highway northwest of Ballarat on Thursday morning.
Emergency services were called to a fatal single vehicle crash along the Pyrenees Highway in Avoca about 2.30am.
Police said the driver and sole occupant of the car could not be revived at the scene.
An investigation is underway.
