No one was safe from the verbally abusive tirade of a woman on-board a V/Line train to Ballarat, according to a comedian whose recount of the experience has gone viral online.
Comedian Rory Lowe took to social media last week after a woman “kicked off” in the quiet carriage of his train from Melbourne to Ballarat.
According to Lowe, about 2.30pm on Wednesday July 5, a woman took a call from her 10-year-old son “like a f***ing foghorn” before being told to quieten down by an elderly man nearby.
Apparently, the man said “I’m deaf and I can still hear you,” which prompted the woman to explode.
The woman then said the elderly man “probably had a brain tumour” before swearing and calling him a paedophile.
The woman then “incrementally” went to other passengers on-board the V/Line service — which was 10 minutes out of Ballarat — and abused them as well.
Mr Lowe said the sole security guard on-board tried to defuse the situation only for the woman to begin a racist attack on the staff member too.
The video has gathered over 1.5m views, with the first million coming within 24 hours of Mr Lowe’s post.
Passengers can report abusive behaviour to police by texting STOPIT to 0499 455 455 or call triple-zero (000) if in immediate danger.
