21-year-old hospitalised after being stabbed in Ballarat East

A 19-year-old has been interviewed by police after a man was hospitalised following a stabbing in Ballarat East.

A teenager was arrested and interviewed man following a stabbing in Ballarat East on Tuesday.

Police are investigating an incident on York St just after 5.30pm, where it is believed two men known to each other began fighting.

During the altercation, a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the leg.

The other man fled the scene on foot.

Paramedics took the injured man to Ballarat Base Hospital.

A 19-year-old Ballarat East man was arrested and interviewed by police.

He has been released pending further enquiries.
