Ballarat trains replaced by coaches after person struck by train
All Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough trains have been cancelled after a person was struck and killed by a train near Ballan.

Trains to numerous regional areas, including Ballarat, have been suspended after a person was struck and killed by a train on Friday afternoon.
According to V/Line, coaches are replacing trains between Wendouree and Melton after a person was struck by a Ballarat-bound train on the line near Ballan.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 2pm.
Wendouree-bound trains departing from Southern Cross have been cancelled throughout the afternoon, while Melbourne-bound services are also disrupted.
Coaches are currently replacing Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough trains between Melton and Ballarat/Wendouree as a result of the incident.

Coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal on Spencer Street.
As at 5.20pm, V/Line said they were still “assessing the situation” and would advise when trains would resume.
The peak hour trains to and from Southern Cross have been cancelled.
Ambulance Victoria said they were called to a report of an incident just before 2pm.
Victoria Police has since confirmed the person has sadly died.
A V/Line spokesperson said:
“We thank passengers for their patience while we work to get them to their destination as quickly and safely as possible following an incident between Ballan and Ballarat”.
V/Line said passengers were encouraged to stay up-to-date with service change information via the V/Line website, app or Twitter feed or by speaking to station staff.
