The case of two of the three men facing charges in relation to a major drug operation that allegedly involved the discovery of one of the biggest illicit drug labs in Victoria’s history will go to trial.

Peter Siaoloa and Warren Shea were arrested in September 2020 in a sweeping series of raids over alleged large-scale drug manufacturing.

Investigators allegedly busted one of the biggest illicit drug labs in the state’s history at a rural property, 70km north of Melbourne in the Macedon Ranges, as well as seized 100kg of methamphetamine.

The Joint Organised Crime Taskforce was made up by members of the Australian Federal Police, Victoria Police, Australian Border Force and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.

They allegedly discovered barrels of liquid methamphetamine as well as precursor chemicals at a large-scale clandestine lab under construction.

Mr Shea’s three-day jury trial has been set down from August 26 while a date for Mr Siaoloa is yet to be fixed.

Ms Siaoloa’s case was called for mention in the County Court on Wednesday.
