A man is fighting for life after he was thrown from his ute while feeding stock in Victoria’s northeast.

A Victoria spokesman told the Herald Sun that a man aged in his 70s was feeding stock on a property at West Wodonga at 3.10pm on Monday when the ute began to roll down a hill.

The ute crashed into a culvert on Plunketts Rd and the man was thrown from the ute tray where he suffered life-threatening injuries before he was taken to hospital.

It comes as Victorian’s have been doing it tough in rural areas, with many farmers having no water for crops and livestock.

Many farmers have described their properties as dry and dusty and are desperate for rain.

WorkSafe, who have been contacted for comment, will be investigating the incident.
