An Albury woman has admitted to telling her partner she would “slice” him open with a knife while their young children watched.

An Albury woman has admitted to threatening to “slice up” her partner with a knife while her young children watched, a court has heard.
Kamarah Jane John, 34, pleaded guilty to using an offensive weapon to commit an indictable offence, stalking and intimidating to cause fear or physical harm and possessing prohibited drugs in Albury Local Court on Monday
Court documents reveal John’s partner of 10 years called an ambulance because she was drunk and needed help on April 1.
Police attended and left before John went back inside and picked up a kitchen knife and threatened her partner with it who was watching television.
John told her partner “I should slice you up” while their young children were nearby.
John’s partner told her to get out of his face but John hit the television with the knife, damaging it.
When her partner tried to call 000, John tried to grab the phone but was unsuccessful.
John then threatened to bash her partner, before police arrived and saw the knife on the floor.
John was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station where she was placed into custody.
While inside the home, police found a clear plastic resealable bag containing 6 grams of cannabis.
John told police in an interview she had been drinking alcohol and did not remember the attack.
John’s defence lawyer said she was no longer attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings as she did previously.
John will be sentenced at a later date.
